Do you know me? Let's FOAF.
Hey, do you know me? and by know me, I mean have we communicated? In blog comments? On a forum? In email?
If we have, and you have a FOAF page, send me you FOAF link. Or just post it in the comments on this post, and I'll add it to my FOAF page. If you'd like to add me to your FOAF page, you can use my FOAF address, and my gyrocy -[at]- gmail.com email address to include me in your FOAF.
It's time we started using tools like these to connect ourselves. This is the kind of portable connections which will, I think, begin driving "friends" list on the internet. Twine is using FOAFs for members, and I think it's a pretty cool idea.
Once you have one of these, you can link to the file from any network, any forum, you blog, membership sites, whatever. And then when you update this file, your information can be updated across any of the sites using it automatically.
Cool, eh?
Lets FOAF!

FOAF and Drupal
I'm going to be doing work with FOAF and Drupal for the Science Collaboration Framework. I can't believe more isn't being done– as one of a relative few doing both, I was interested in your opinion on what is and should be done.
Thanks.
I would love to see a Module
I'd really like to see a module for Drupal that supported FOAF for readers and users.
Things I would like to see are:
1. When registering users to the site ask for their FOAF.
2. If they do not have a FOAF, have a generator assist them in building one.
3. Optionally host the FOAF for the users in a special site FOAF file directory, and offer it to the user to download and host themselves.
4. Automatically add FOAF links to the site FOAF file pointing to members FOAFs hosted either locally or remotely.
5.Optionally allow non members to submit FOAF information and generate a FOAF file for them, then optionally add the link to the site FOAF.
6.Allow for FOAF checking. a) for file existence and b) for proper relationship documentation pointing to the site FOAF, and conditionally include or exclude based on existence and proper relationship in the remote file.
FOAF
I still haven't a clue what it is LOL other than something attached to a program.
Guess I will have to check into it further

FOAF
I had never seen that acronym so your title sucked me in. It seems like a decent idea but there are already way to many social networking options. I would like it a lot more if this was a plugin for facebook.
